A Trip to Paradise
Imagine that you are in Paradise among a great variety of rare and exotic trees and plants. Paradise Garden or Hesede Forest Nursery is an arboretum in Hesede Forest between Haslev and Næstved. The history of Paradise Garden can be traced 200 years back, when Hesede Forest Nursery was established by Gisselfeld Kloster in 1813. The forest nursery closed in 1925, but the exotic vegetation which had been planted kept on growing, and today it consists of a unique collection of rare, evergreen, and deciduous trees. Later Paradise Garden became an arboretum which aroused great interest both among experts and ordinary guests in the forest. In 2009 Paradise Garden went through a comprehensive renovation, and a small information house was established in a previous stable.
